The Palace Beautiful

Hi! Today’s post is another Pilgrim’s Progress section – surprise! Let’s get started!

Christian keeps going onward but eventually sees some lions. Mistrust and Timorous had their reasons for turning back, and facing the lions had been on of them.

Christian, however, though he was frightened, reminded himself that if he went forward and was attacked by the lions; that was death. And heading back to where he came from would also be death.

A man named Watchful called out to Christian. “Fear not, the lions are chained! This is only a trial of faith,” or he said something along the lines of that. You get the idea.

So, with the encouragement of Watchful, Christian made it past the lions and also found that their was a little house. Watchful explained it was there for pilgrim’s. So Christian explained his journey to Watchful, and he agreed to let him be questioned by a women named Discretion which determined whether he would be able to stay or not. (I think that’s what happened it’s kinda hard to follow).

Finally he was deemed trustworthy and was given dinner and a place to sleep along with a few companions: Piety, Charity, and Prudence. They talked and asked about Christian’s journey.

Christian told them about it and answered all their eager questions. They ate dinner and gave him a bed. In the morning, Christian knew he must continue back on his journey. But before he could leave, they gave him good armor and new shoes. But still, they longed him to stay so he stayed another day in the Immanuel Land.

Finally, Christian continued his journey. As he was leaving, Watchful told Christian he saw another pilgrim, Faithful on his way. Faithful was Christian’s good friend. With that, Christian left to keep going on his journey, down into the Valley of Humiliation.

That was a nice one ๐Ÿ™‚ It was pretty chill besides the lion part haha. I don’t think there is much to note on except maybe it was cool to see the answer to one of the question’s Christian was asked.

Prudence basically asks Christian why his heart is so set and passionate for this journey. And Christian basically answers,

I love that. And that’s really how I simplify and see his answer. You could take it an entirely different way, I guess! But that was my highlight of this post/section in my opinion.

Well, thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy this post and the last posts, and the more posts to come. Stick with me as we keep exploring this journey that resembles the life of a follower of Christ!
