my over all thoughts on Pilgrim’s Progress

·

HAHAH! I thought we were done, but actually NOPE! SURPRISE! This post is exactly what my title says it is; a post on what I thought of the whole book. So let’s get into it!

  • I loved the way that it was laid out like a journey
  • I loved the accuracy of how much it was like living a life of faith
  • I enjoyed the characters
  • I noticed and appreciated the many Bible verses
  • I liked the way everything’s names were self-describable

  • this wasn’t really a strong dislike, it was just a bit unpleasant at times. And what I’m talking about is the old English, haha
  • how long some of the sections were
  • sometimes it could get really confusing
  • the lack of blessings and beauties (I think he could’ve made a few nicer places and stops for Christian on the way. But that’s just me)

  • knowing there are trials and tribulations in life and putting on the armor of God for that
  • and also remembering how easy it is to be lead astray which sort of goes along with what I said up there ^
  • holding fast through the struggle and pains is so worth it
  • there are other Christian’s out there; we must be in good fellowship and help each other. Build one another up like it says in Philippians

There is so much more I could say but I think it’s nice to keep it short and sweet 😀

Well I hope you enjoyed this season of reading Pilgrim’s progress with me and continue to keep checking for posts!

Well put review. I suppose Bunyan could’ve put more pleasantries along the path in his story. But, he was writing from jail (unjustly placed there) so he probably couldn’t relate much to an ‘easy, comfortable Christian life’. Good job!
